Working to make it a special welcome back season. Great group of new players. Team Mission, chosen by players, was to Dedicate to Improvement or #D2I.
Philosophy of team Culture is: Respect, Gratitude and Selflessness.
Communication will be through WhatsApp mass texting, The Website or direct texting / voicemail. Please read Team Manual. Facebook (Homer Mariners Softball) will be mostly for posting pictures, non-critical announcements. The app Team Manager will be used for stats, live video and results of games. Games- planning three trips- Valley, Anchorage and Kodiak. Self covid swabs will be administered on Wednesday prior to travel. Be sure the permission slip is in for this. We are hoping to do a tournament here the weekend of graduation.
Parental assistance – will need assistance with field maintenance, game management, treasurer. scorekeeping, umpiring, etc.
Expenses – player fees / waivers to HHS office. We can supply almost all necessities- gloves, shoes, unies, masks, etc. Usually a collection of money to defer hotel fees ( especially with not sharing beds during covid) . Players responsible for their own meals but arrangements can be made for hardship. No one will be turned away. Income from player fees, businesses ( see our sponsors and thank them) , Booster Club, and GoFundMe. Usually we have our large raffle and Pull tabs. Currently we are in a passable financial situation.
Homer Mariner Softball Inc, is the umbrella organization for High School and USA/Softball summer program. Anyone is welcome to serve on Board of directors. Usually one meeting a year.
Schedule will be most up to date on website. Sudden changes in Practice Schedule will be minimized.
