We are crashing into the season. I will keep the Schedule up to date and use the Practice Schedule to cover travel plans into the future as I know them. It is going to be non-stop from this point forward. Hang on and enjoy the ride.
Season Update
A great group of players, skilled veterans and new players that are anxious to learn and doing really well. Team has decided our motto is “Dedicated to Improvement ” and they are certainly improving by the hour in practice. #D2I Parent Meeting notes are on the parent page, Schedule is getting filled in though it obviously hangs by a thread at all times. Paperwork is slowly getting turned in. We teach to only control what you can control but that does not keep us from muttering about the weather. One day we will be outside, in the warmth, on green grass. For now, we would settle for mud and jackets. On we go…
Ready to Roar into the Season
A great first two weeks with returning Vets and really focused and enthusiastic rookies. With traditional Fund Raising on hold we are asking for any help that can be provided. https://gofund.me/f791e42d Thanks from the bottom of our gloves.
Spring 21 is Melting its way here
We will have a Parent meeting in the next couple of weeks as Spring settles in but if you have questions please contact either Mary Hana Bowe, the assistant coach, or myself. Please take the time to review the Team Handbook on our website at marinersoftball.net and ask that your players go over it also. I will not be long winded here as the website should contain the information to all questions that you would have, and I can get long winded in the future.
We have also sent a link to the WhatsApp Group text that we use for more immediate communication if you are willing to be part of a group texting service that is not too burdensome.
We will follow all Borough and Alaska guidelines for Covid safety during the season and those are listed on the Team Information page of the website. And, of course, we will be needing lots of help with field work, game support, etc and will keep you notified about those opportunities. Fund raising that we usually do through our raffle and pull tabs has taken a big hit both last year and this year so if anyone has ideas for helping with the extra costs that are going to be associated with the season and travelling, all ideas are welcome.
It has been a pleasure meeting the new players and seeing their enthusiasm and “coachability”

2021 with Optimism
Please feel free to do some Dome time on your own or with one bubbled friend. We have had to postpone groups for now with the meteoric rise in disease transmission. Follow the guidelines, take a few swings and a few throws and dream of a healthy spring.
Hope Springs….
Starting to gear up for some weekly practice times in the dome. Please let me know times that work and particular skills that you want to work on. Please also share with me your ideas for mitigating our risk. Join the split the pot raffle for the Booster Club https://go.rallyup.com/e3b345/7YT77K
